May have an advanced education. 24 month contract Interview: Virtual Interview Work model: Not specifiedProject DescriptionThe Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is used by State Police forensic labs for tracking of all forensic evidence including Toxicology. The design of toxicology functions in LIMS requires upgrades and improvements such as more effective case flow, statistical and epidemiologic reporting and replacement of other toxicology reports. The candidate will be participate in conducting analysis interviews with the users to understand what currently exists and what is needed. The candidate will then gather and document functional and technical requirements as well as create mock reports to be reviewed by the business. Once the requirements and report design have been signed off by the user, the candidate will develop complex Crystal Reports based on Oracle data, develop and update test cases/scripts and perform system testing, create a User Acceptance Test plan and coordinate User Acceptance testing. The candidate will also provide knowledge transfer to state staff in order to implement and support technical solutions. Collaboration with Information Technology Services staff, Forensic lab staff and the LIMS vendor will be required. The candidate will be expected to participate in status review meetings and provide monthly reports.Day-to-Day TasksWork with end users to review/analyze existing systems, reports and documentation.Participate in business user and stakeholder meetings for requirement gathering sessions. This will include but is not limited to the Forensic Investigation Center, Division of Criminal Justice Services, State Police & several areas within the Office of Information Technology Services (security, networking, workstation, architecture and database).Develop, write, and maintain a comprehensive requirements document and assist with use case development when required. All documents will be done according to ITS standards.Analyze, design, develop and document technical solutions utilizing Crystal Reports and Oracle/SQL queries. This will include but not limited to creating report designs, data mapping documents and configuration changes.Participate in the development and updating of Test cases/scriptsExecute tests and record results. This will also include recording and tracking of defects.Interact with ITS staff, Forensic Lab staff and the LIMS vendor as necessary to determine and implement functional and technical requirementsParticipate in status meetings and provide monthly reports.Provide knowledge transfer to state staff in order to implement and support technical solutions.Work closely with the project manager and functional manager to ensure timely deliverables.Required Qualifications60 months experience in obtaining and writing business, user and functional requirements, use cases, creating mock reports and workflows60 months experience working with an Oracle Relational Databases.60 months system design experience24 Months experience using Test Management tools such as ALM/Quality Center.Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Natural Sciences, or related field.
